Dr. Howard Reinstein

Howard Reinstein, MD (“Dr. Howie”) has been a practicing pediatrician in the San Fernando Valley for many years. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Dr. Reinstein did  his pediatric internship and residency at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. He then worked at UCLA's Center for Health Sciences, subsequently returning to Children’s Hospital and the USC Medical School faculty. Dr. Reinstein currently holds academic appointments in Pediatrics at both UCLA and USC Medical Schools, and teaches medical students and residents.


Dr. Reinstein is a past chair of the department of pediatrics at  Providence Tarzana Medical Center and served as the medical director of the Wilshire Boulevard Temple camps for more than 20 years. He has been a media spokesperson for the American Academy of Pediatrics, was a founding member of their Media Resource Team, and was public relations coordinator for the local chapter of the Academy. Dr. Reinstein is a past president of the Los Angeles Pediatric Society. He has received teaching awards from Children’s Hospital and from UCLA, and has been voted Best Pediatrician by the readers of the Daily News. He was elected by peers into the Best Doctors in America and Superdoctors Southern California.  He currently serves on the board of directors of the Child Development Institute, and is an advisor to the Cheerful Helpers Child and Family Center.


His wife, Ellen, is a licensed clinical social worker in private psychotherapy practice.  They are the parents of two daughters, and grandparents of four grandsons.
