On-Call Doctor

If you or your child is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911. 


There is a doctor from our office on-call 24 hours a day 7 days a week. After hours, the doctors take emergency calls from their homes. To reach the after-hours on-call doctor, please call the main office number and follow the prompts to leave a message. The on-call doctor will call you back within 30 minutes. 


Please save routine questions (mild illness, appointments, prescription refills, etc) for business hours. Thank you for calling after hours only for matters that cannot wait until the next business day.

Emergency Room


Sometimes a situation will arise after hours when a patient will need to be seen. If you think minutes will make a difference, or the situation appears life-threatening, please call 911. If not, always call the office first and the on-call doctor will help you form a plan of action, which might include a visit to an urgent care center or an emergency room. 


Our primary hospital is the Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center on Clark Street just south of Burbank and east of Reseda. They have an excellent emergency room and good pediatric in-hospital care if needed, so we suggest Tarzana for the most urgent cases.

We have no financial or professional affiliation with any urgent care centers. We often recommend PM Pediatric Urgent Care.

They are open:

Monday - Friday: Noon - 10pm

Saturday - Sunday: 10am - 10pm

Emergencies

Emergencies are considered to be those conditions that are life-threatening: loss of consciousness, severe bleeding, seizure, etc. In the case of minor emergencies (lacerations, cuts, mild fractures, sprains), please call our office first for instructions.
