We are contracted with most PPO plans. Please double check with your insurance company as well as with our billing department that we are a participating provider with your specific plan.

Please visit our Financial Policies for additional information, and contact our billing department with any specific questions.

  • Can I meet my pediatrician before my baby is born?

Yes, in fact we strongly encourage parents-to-be to set up and Meet-and-Greet with one of our doctors. These can be scheduled in the office or remotely. This is a great way to get acquainted with our office and our doctors. Please visit our Expectant Parent's page for more information.

  • I just gave birth. When should I schedule my baby's first doctor visit?

We typically recommend that your newborn be seen in our office 1-3 days after discharge from the hospital. Our staff understands the importance of this first visit and will make every effort to schedule this visit promptly.

  • Does your practice support breastfeeding mothers?

Yes, we promote and support breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is an individualized and personal decision and should be discussed with your doctor.

To support our new mothers, we also have experienced lactation consultants in the office that coordinate visits with your doctor.

  • How do we contact the after hours doctor?

We have a physician on call 24 hours a day, please call our office to speak to the on call doctor. This is for emergency purposes only. Please note that refills of medications and referrals will only be managed during office hours.

Please refer to our After Hours page for additional information.

  • How often does my child need to be seen in the office?

Our routine health maintenance visit schedule follows the American Academy of Pediatrics guideline for children. Please visit our Well Child section for additional information.

  • Why does my child need to receive vaccinations?

Immunizations are a series of shots given to children at different ages to help ward off serious, and potentially fatal, childhood diseases. Making sure your child receives immunizations when scheduled is the best way to help protect your child from potentially fatal diseases. According to The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), vaccinations have reduced the number of infections from vaccine-preventable diseases by more than 90%.

All California schools require specific vaccinations prior to school entry.

If you're apprehensive about vaccinations, please do not hesitate to speak to your doctor about your questions and concerns.

  • How do I obtain a prescription refill?

For medication refills, please call our office, or ask your pharmacy to send our office a refill request directly. Allow 1-2 business days for all routine prescription refills. For prescriptions that require prior authorization from your insurance company, please plan ahead to allow at least 3-5 days for approval. Routine prescriptions are refilled Monday through Friday only.

  • When will I receive lab or test results?

Your doctor will inform you when to expect test results. You will receive a call quickly with any lab results that require urgent attention. Other abnormal lab results will be addressed promptly by the provider who ordered the labs or tests. Normal values are reviewed and addressed by the physician who ordered them.

While awaiting test results, if there is any change to your child's symptoms or if you have any concerns, please call our office.
