  • Scheduling an Appointment

To make an appointment, please call our office. We will make every effort to answer your call; however, if you reach our voice mailbox, please leave a message and we will call you back as quickly as possible.

If you need to schedule a future appointment, you may also email info@balboapediatrics.com. Note, these messages are only checked periodically during business hours. For urgent matters, please call the office directly.

Appointments can be made during our regular office hours from 9am-5pm Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 9am to 12 noon. We do have at least one doctor and some of our staff available from 8-9am and 5-6pm for scheduled appointments.

We ask that you arrive at our office 5-10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. This will allow you to complete any necessary paperwork and to update any demographic and insurance changes. If you need to cancel an appointment, please notify us as soon as possible.

We sincerely try to meet our appointment schedule and run on time. On occasion, due to medical emergencies, there may be unavoidable delays. We will advise you if there is going to be a delay in seeing you. If your schedule won't allow you to wait, we will be happy to reschedule your appointment. Thank you in advance for your patience in this regard.

  • Sick Appointments

If your child is sick, please call the office as soon after 8am as possible to schedule an appointment. In most cases, and definitely if your child’s condition warrants it, the appointment will be made for the same day.

We ask that you always call first for an appointment and do not ”walk-in”. To ensure the best use of time, for both our physicians and patients, all of our office visits are by appointment only.

  • Well Appointments

Well child appointments can book up many weeks in advance, so we encourage you to make your next appointments as you are leaving each well child visit, or call our office at least 2-3 months in advance to schedule the appointment on a date that best fits your schedule.

  • Missed or Late Appointments

Our practice makes every effort to run on time with appointments, as we believe everyone’s time is equally valuable. As a courtesy, we will remind you of your upcoming appointments via phone/text message.

We ask that you arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. We understand sometimes things happen beyond your control that may cause you to be late. Please try to call us as soon as you know you will be late. If you are later than 10 minutes for your appointment, we will try to work you back into the schedule, or for any appointment except a well visit, we may offer an appointment to you with another provider. Out of courtesy to our other patients, we may be forced to ask you to reschedule your appointment.

Missed appointments represent a cost to us, to you, and to other patients who could have been seen in the time set aside for you. We request 24 hours notice for cancellation of appointments. We reserve the right to charge a fee for missed or canceled appointments. The third consecutive missed appointment may result in discharge from the practice.

  • Non-Emergency Walk-Ins

All visits require an appointment except in the case of an emergency.

Patients who walk in with a non-emergency condition will be fit into the existing schedule only if possible, or they will be asked to return when the schedule allows.
